Our Top Spots for Tacos This Cinco De Mayo!

Talaia here! Welcome to taco land!! I teamed up with a couple of my favorite spots in Atlanta to bring you a rundown on where to head for tacos this Cinco De Mayo! You can thank me later 🙂 I visited some of the best Ameri-Mex food restaurants around the city for their tacos, their drinks, and their overall ambience and service. #TacoTourATL is in full effect!

Best–Well Tacos!

I’m kicking off our taco tour with the hands down BEST spot for taco lovers this Cinco–Rock ‘N Taco. Situated in the heart of Buckhead, this place is a great late-night gathering spot for taco lovers (they got all types), and the rooftop bar with views of the Atlanta skyline is the best part! But let’s get down to business. The tacos are truly amazing and their endless menu includes a ton of taco options for everyone! I recommend trying at least 10 different tacos before deciding on your favorites–okay maybe that’s a bit much lol. What’s my favorite taco? The poke–yes poke taco. Who knew such a thing existed, but it is SO tasty! Y’all head on over to Rock ‘N Taco for a full on taco feast this Cinco!

Best Ambience for Tacos

In Atlanta, everyone loves a scene and the best place to see and be seen this Cinco De Mayo is bartaco. With a couple of locations around Atlanta, the West Midtown’s chill, yet intoxicating vibe is great for day and evening gatherings! Not to mention their menu is ON POINT and is one of the most interesting in Atlanta! Bartaco has an awesome array of yummy tacos–my favorite being the shrimp (because shrimp, juicy shrimp). But their impressive menu also includes a few of my favorites like the best guac I’ve ever had (understated yet full flavored, plantains, and my current obsession a poke bowl. Take a stroll to Bartaco to kick off your Cinco De Mayo festivities, grab a chair on the patio and a margarita (they’re really good here 🙂

Best All Around

I love Love LOVE Mezacalitos! Located just outside of Atlanta Mezacalito’s has been an old Decatur fave for a while now, and our #TacoTourATL afforded me the opportunity to visit again! So what’s to love? Well Mezacalito’s has some of the best Latin food in Atlanta–fight me on this!! All of their food is sourced fresh, and is just so flavorful! They don’t have a huge taco selection, but their entire menu is amazing. My faves here are the grilled steak tacos, the enchiladas, and the corn tamale is bomb. Also, order the Basil Margarita. It’s their hand-crafted lighter take on a traditional margarita and it’s so damn refreshing and good!

Best ‘Out of the Box’ Taco Menu

Takeora is an awesome Korean/Mexican infused taco joint in Midtown, and it’s anything but ordinary! When I first arrived I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was extremely curious of how the chefs fused Korean and Mexican flavors into their dishes. Well I still don’t understand how it’s done but that’s not important. The results of this cultural fusion are quite impressive! I tried a variety of TAKOS but my favorite (and everyone’s favorite) is the KFC Korean Fried Chicken Tako. It’s so good! I also liked the Kimichi Fried Rice, and Sticky Chicky which is crispy chicken bites tossed in an apricot glaze. The menu is truly inspiring so I recommend venturing off and trying some different items.

Best Cinco De Mayo Hangout

Superica takes the spot for best “hangout” for Cinco De Mayo! Why? Because Superica is that classic Mexican restaurant with delicious food, amazing drinks, and a fun, appealing atmosphere for celebrations! Also if you live in Atlanta you’ve probably heard of it at one point or another–it’s definitely one of Atlanta’s most popular restaurants. I’ve been to Superica a handful of times and let me tell you the first time I tried the queso I was hooked! They’ve made some changes to the queso over the years (which I’m not too excited about–they added salsa to it?) BUT the Roswell location still has the original queso recipe–which is worth the drive alone! Some of my favorites here are the nachos–I know this is a TACO tour, but hear me out, the shrimp nachos are delicious! Also I recently got into their Mexican street corn–an off menu item they’re serving all Cinco De Mayo day long!
