Nut Free Chewy Granola Bars

Here is my take on a very easy granola bar recipe I grabbed from Sweet Girl Confections.  After trying these bars, you won’t even think about buying them from the store–that is, if you can keep them around long enough!  In my house that is nearly impossible.  I made these nut free, fruity granola bars just yesterday, and they disappeared over night–(*wipes crumbs from face*)– but after one bite it is completely understandable.

These granola bars are so good you will eat them for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack on them in between–I am not exaggerating… so lets get to the recipe.  I added chocolate chips, dried apples, and raisins in mine, and it is easy to believe that you may be adding too many chips or raisins, but please ignore that thought.  It is better to add enough than to wish you would have added more!  Also in my recipe I add less flour, and wheat germ in order to get that crumble texture.  And I add a little milk just because.  Play with this though and substitute, change whatever you find necessary.

The recipe is below, and please let me know what you think!
